All Youth Bass & Fishing Tournament Application
1. RULES: The following rules for this tournament will be
used. The rules will be interpreted by the Tournament Officials and all
decisions are final. All participants will abide by all Federal , State and
Local regulations. There will be no exceptions. Boats must have proof of
liability insurance.
2. ELIGIBILITY: All individuals, from age 5 to 18 will be eligible to compete in
the All Youth Fishing Tournament. This tournament is for kids and young adults
and only the fish they catch will be weighed in. Each contestant will be
accompanied by a parent or guardian. Contestants not fishing with a parent or
guardian must fill out the release form and this must be signed by their parent
or guardian. More than one contestant may fish from the same boat as long as you
are not exceeding weight limit or the number of persons allowed specified by the
boat manufacturer and or the USCG.
3. ENTRY FEES: This is a free tournament.
4. AGE DIVISIONS : Age division will be as follows. Group 1 will be ages 5-7.
Group 2 will be 8-10. Group 3 will be 11-14 and Group 4 will be 15-18.
5. TAKE-OFF: Will be in the order entries are received. The take-off site will
be the official check-out and check-in area. Live wells and kill switches will
be inspected during take-off.
6. BOATS & MOTORS: In the bass division boats 15 feet or longer with properly working aerated
live-wells and kill switch are required. The open division will no require a
live well. No air boats allowed . All boats must meet U.S.
Coast Guard or Manufactures rated horse power plate and State Water Patrol
regulations . No overpowered boats.
7. OPEN DIVISION TACKLE & EQUIPMENT : All fish must be caught alive on a rod and
reel during Tournament hours from a boat. Live bait may be used in the open
division.
BASS DIVISION TACKLE & EQUIPMENT: Only artificial lures and baits may be used.
All bass must be caught alive on a rod and reel during Tournament hours from a
boat in a sporting manner. No trolling.
8. SAFETY & SPORTSMANSHIP: Safe boating and fishing practices must be observed
at all times. Life jackets must be worn anytime the combustion motor is running.
Children under 7 years of age must wear a USCG-approved Type I, II, III or V
personal flotation device at all times while onboard any watercraft. Life
Jackets must meet the specific age and weight limit for each contestant. Kill
switches must be attached to the driver anytime the combustion motor is running.
Each contestant is expected to follow the highest standards of sportsmanship,
courtesy, safety and conservation. No alcohol or illegal drugs may used by
anyone during the tournament or the weigh-in.
9. PERMITTED FISHING LOCATIONS: Anywhere on the Tournament lake except within 50
yards of another contestants anchored boat, or the take-off area inside the
marker buoys. Also not within 50 yards of a public gas pump. All fishing must be
done from the boat. No contestants may leave the boat to land a fish and no
trailering during tournament hours. .
10. SCORING OPEN DIVISION: Any species of fish may be weighed in the open
division . However all game fish must meet the legal length limit if one exists.
Only 10 fish per contestant may be weighed in the open division. All fish to be
measured on official measuring board, Golden rule Keeper Board. All fish will be
measured with the mouth closed , and tail pinched or fanned. Any short fish
presented for weigh-in will result in the loss of the short fish. No culling
inside the marker buoys, take-off cove or weigh-in area.
11. SCORING BASS DIVISION: Largemouth , Spotted Kentucky and Smallmouth Bass
will be weighed. Only 3 fish per contestant may be weighed-in. All fish to be
measured on official measuring board, Golden rule Keeper Board. All fish will be
measured with the mouth closed , and tail pinched or fanned. Any short fish
presented for weigh-in will result in a 1 (one) pound deduction from the total
weight and the loss of the short fish. Dead fish will receive a 1 (one) pound
deduction per fish and only 1 dead fish per boat. No culling inside the marker
buoys, take-off cove or weigh-in area.
12. WEIGH-IN: Will begin at the end of Tournament hours. No fish will be weighed
in until then. Each contestant must be present to verify weight during weigh-in.
13. PROTEST: Must be filed within 10 minutes in writing after weigh-in and
signed . Tournament officials will determine and resolve any and all protests
and their decision will be final.
14. TIES: Ties for total weight will be broken by big fish. In event they tie it
will be broken by a COIN TOSS.
15. CHECK-IN LATE PENALTY: All boats must check-in, any boat weighing in that
has not checked-in will be disqualified. Late penalty is 1 (one) pound per
minute up to ten minutes then disqualification. The check-in area will be the
same as the take-off area. No exceptions.
16. CHALLENGE RULE: Short fish may be challenged, we will stop weigh-in and make
every effort to determine if the fish is short.
17. APPLICATION: In signing this application I am giving permission for the contestant whom I am the parent or guardian of to participate in The All Youth Bass and Fishing Tournament on Truman Lake and I hereby waive and release all other contestants, the boater ,sponsors and tournament officials from all claims of injury or damage incurred in connection with The All Youth Bass & Fishing Tournament.
